New forms of Media Publishing


Nowadays, the new media has changed the way that the world communicates with the public in various technologies that have seen rapid growth throughout the world.  Internet, is the most used media by the people as the new media is constantly evolved to connect to different podiums and as many people by way of interactivity is the characteristic in defining the new media (wisegeek.com, 2012).



 Social networks such as Facebook, Twitter and Myspace are the new media that have changed the way people communicate nowadays which has expanded the notions of the stages of interactivity made possible by new media. Besides that, the ability  for Internet users to post any text, photos or even video for other users could interact is seen as a revolution in global communications. Users not only able to share ideas, but furthermore make their communication with other users faster and more reliable compared to the traditional media. For example, blogs are used by several companies to sell and advertise their products online which is more effectual as it is convenient to their clients. Whereas, citizen journalist used blogs and twitter to update and share issues related to politics, global news which enables users to retrieve the news or information faster at the same time covers stories that are censored by the mainstream media.

On the other hand, online news and newspaper online are also striven to become a big hit among internet users. Newspaper online  allows users the freedom of choice of the kind of news they want to read and provides variety, and quality information all in one (newsflavour.com, 2012)  Besides that, it also enable readers to share their views in the comments column on news online and give different point view to other readers. Thus the new media gives opportunity to the public to practice freedom of speech to fight for their rights.

Blog Credibility



Blog credibility is important to provide readers with credible information or news in the content of the blog. According to a research by Johnson, J, T et al (2007) Users that are internet-savvy nowadays are increasingly assembling to blogs as a source of political news and information. In this article, the author also stated that readers perceive blog credibility by the depth of information that a blogger writes in the blog. Therefore, the sources that the blogger develop have to be from a credible and reliable sources so that trust is built among the target audiences and  furthermore to keep them believing on what the blogger posted. Besides that, readers also perceive blog credibility by observing whether the blog provides continual information that is up-to-date. When a blog is active, readers will eventually be engaged to the blog. 

On the hand, as a blogger, I would build credibility of my blog by providing  references from a credible source of information. This will prove to blog readers that the information shared is trustworthy and believable. Apart from that, I would be honest with the target audiences. In other words, to practice transparency in proving information or feedback on the product that is featured on the blog as people nowadays are relying on blogs as their source of information or news. Therefore, the reliance and motivations of a blog is strongly linked to build a blog credibility.
